Hyderabad: Anantha Rehab Translational Care and Pain Management Center has plans to adopt a hub-and-spoke model to cater their rehab services across Telangana. Identifying the lack of translational care facilities in the State, it has recently opened a 65,000-sq-ft facility in Begumpet and plans to set up another three centres in next couple of years.
Anantha was established as one of the largest multi-specialty rehabilitation centers in South India with 75 beds, world class infrastructure and a team of dedicated specialists. It aims to provide holistic care, addressing both chronic and acute health issues. It claims to be the only rehab centre in the country with non-invasive brain stimulation facility.
“In Hyderabad, there are only 5,800 beds available for rehab services in a formal set up. Informally, there are some rehab facilities availavle in the city, but together they are not enough for 1.11 crore people in the city. There are nearly 28 lakh persons who require these services,” Anantha Co-founder Dr M Chandrasheker told Bizz Buzz.
He further said that existing rehab centres are catering the needs of just one-third of the patients in the city. He informed that their new centre at Begumpet aims to bridge the existing healthcare gap. It is backed by 125 doctors and supporting staff specialised in various fields. It has 3,000-sq-ft physiotherapy unit with high-end equipment and a wellness centre. It will introduce music therapy and yoga also.
Speaking about the hub-and-spoke model, Dr LNVSL Kishore Karumuri, Consultant and one of the promoters at Anantha, said: “We are planning to set up three more centres – at Financial District, Dilsukhnagar and Kompally – over the next two years. Through these hubs, we want to continue delivering our rehab services to the peripheries.”
He adds, “Hyderabad is developing as a global destination for medical tourism due to the availability of affordable and quality healthcare facilities here. There is a lot of scope for the rehab and translational care in the city. We are also trying to cater the NRIs (Non Resident Indians). We have the best facilities to provide geriatric care, transitional care and palliative care to the NRI patients at a reasonable cost.”
